A Letter From One of Our Co-Founders
Hello,
My name is Meridyth Mischel Webber and I am writing to introduce you to our very special earring concept, Hook-On EarringsTM by Meridyth Max, a 20-year journey that has culminated into a beautiful and sensible product.
How Meridyth Max Came Together
In 1998, I reached a milestone after 10 years of developing a new way for women to wear earrings when I was granted two U.S. Design Patents, one U.S. Utility Patent and one International Design Patent for my concept.
In 2007, a woman named Max Corso called and told me she was walking around with my phone number for five years. Max held a similar U.S. Design Patent, but realized she could not continue with development of her earrings without a utility patent. We talked for hours and discovered we shared an identical journey.
As a result of that phone call, Hook-On EarringsTM was born. Max and I are now business partners, friends and family to each other.
A First of Its Kind
During the initial patent application process, I learned I was the first person to change the way an earring was worn since the 1930's. The Hook-On EarringsTM concept is for all women wanting a beautiful, yet completely safe and comfortable way of wearing earrings. There are many women who would benefit from what Hook-On Earrings tm products do (or more likely what they don’t do).
Hook-On EarringsTM is perfect for women who have stretched or torn their earlobes with traditional pierced earrings. Hook-On EarringsTM benefit women who have never pierced their ears and find the weight and discomfort of clip-on earrings unbearable. When wearing Hook-On EarringsTM, our earring back (or "finding"), is completely undetectable.
Hook-On EarringsTM products are non-invasive, and do not require the need to "pinch" the earlobe in order for them to be secure. Hook-On EarringsTM is a wonderful, nickel-free alternative for women who suffer allergies.
